MLA has issued a press release which sets out the details of its significantly re-defined role, and new ways of working nationally and regionally. The MLA’s Executive Board will be strengthened by the appointment of three Directors of Engagement, each with specific geographic responsibilities. In addition, the MLA will appoint a Regional Manager to each English region. This new senior leadership team will engage with and influence decision-makers in local government, and will be a resource for the sector across the nation.
In total, the MLA will have the capacity to deploy up to 30 staff in regional action teams. These flexible, mobile groups will be formed to undertake specific functions in priority locations. This responsive staffing model will ensure the MLA can gather local intelligence, respond sensitively to varying needs and target its priorities based on accurate feedback.
In the months ahead MLA North East will continue to deliver our Business Plan for 2008/09 and aims to maintain business as usual.
